Anheuser-Busch and Marketing Researcher with over 1,000
marketing research projects over the past 20 years
Lana Douglas has been a new product developer for over twelve years, working on marketing and research staffs for companies such as Kimberly-Clark, RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company, Anheuser-Busch and, most recently, as vice-president of sales and marketing for Lyrick Studios (now HIT! Entertainment), the creators of Barney? and Wishbone?.
For the past 20 years, Ms. Douglas has conducted well over a thousand focus groups in her career in a variety of industries including restaurant/hospitality, medical, professional organizations, banking, high tech, consumer packaged goods, entertainment, retail, oil and gas, printing/publishing, utilities and telecommunications (see Clients Served). She is a frequent lecturer on marketing research and new product development at universities and at seminars. She has completed several pro bono projects for Dallas-area non-profit organizations and the City of Dallas.
While she really loves conducting any type of focus group or one-on-one, she especially enjoys conducting focus groups or interviews with children, as well as the sometimes hard-to-interview corporate executives and medical professionals.
Lana Douglas has an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin, with majors in communications and business. She has a master’s degree in clinical psychology, also from the University of Wisconsin. She has completed MBA coursework at the University of Chicago, as well as all the coursework provided by the Synectics Institute (an institute that teaches ideation/creativity skills in business) in Cambridge, MA. Ms. Douglas is currently working on her Ph.D. in psychology from Southern Methodist University, with a specialty in corporate psychology/mediation.
Ms. Douglas has served on several boards including the board of directors for the Dallas YWCA and Dallas Chamber Music, as the chairperson of the Texas/Oklahoma Ford Motor Company Dispute Settlement Arbitration Board, and the advisory committee for the Child Care Group (the largest non-profit recipient of City of Dallas United Way funds).
